Eyebrow transplantation is done under local anesthesia . The first step is the designing of the eyebrows, done in conjunction with your feedback, with the doctor making sure the design is aesthetic and natural appearing. Then the surgeon starts to harvest hair follicles from the strip of skin covered with hair from the back of the head .
Normally about 500- 1500 hair follicles are implanted on each side, varying from one person to another.
Depending on how many hairs are transplanted, the procedure typically takes up to four hours.
The implanted follicles start growing in 20 days and then enter the natural circle of hair fall . These start to regrow after 3 months and become permanent . However, this process some times takes longer, about 15 months and for this reason, it is recomended that patients avoid plucking eyebrows for 15 months . Sometimes but not often, 20 percent of implanted follicules never grow at all . Overall, 80 -90 percent of transplanted hair will grow in 90 percent of patients.
